904L (Uranus B6)

904L stainless steel is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with extra-high corrosion resistance, particularly in strongly oxidizing and chloride-containing environments. It is part of the L-grade stainless steels, where “L” indicates low carbon content, reducing susceptibility to sensitization and intergranular corrosion.
904L has exceptional corrosion resistance to sulfuric, phosphoric, and hydrochloric acids, as well as seawater. Its low carbon content reduces sensitization, making it suitable for welding and it’s strong yet ductile.
