347
Austenitic stainless steel
Description
347 stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel that is stabilized with niobium (columbium) instead of titanium (as in 321).
This niobium addition prevents the formation of chromium carbides during welding or prolonged heating, giving 347 excellent resistance to intergranular corrosion, even after exposure to high temperatures (up to 870 °C / 1600 °F).
347 stainless steel can also be supplied to petrochemical standards including ASTM A193 B8C & ASTM A194 8C
