Spin galvanising

The LoneStar Group offers spin galvanising solutions to protect threaded or precision components, including fasteners, bolts, nuts, washers and fixings.

This process offers the same benefits of hot dip galvanising but ensures clean and uniform coatings on the finest of parts and threads.

Complex parts. Consistent quality

The LoneStar Group works with approved manufacturers who use galvanising and centrifuge systems, allowing us to offer both hot dip and spin galvanising solutions to our global critical-industry customers.
While hot dip galvanising is used for larger components, spin galvanising is required to protect smaller parts that can become lost, damaged or unevenly finished in the zinc-coating process.

Spin galvanising

This process involves placing metallic components in a dip basket, which is then submerged in molten zinc, withdrawn and spun at high speeds within centrifuge systems. Through controlled spinning, excess zinc is consistently removed from all parts, resulting in a clean, uniform finish throughout the batch.

Benefits of galvanising

Unlike surface-level coatings such as paint, the zinc chemically bonds to metal, making it stronger against wear and corrosion. This galvanised zinc coating is also thicker than alternatives, further contributing to its strength and durability to enhance performance lifespans while reducing maintenance cycles and replacement costs.
In addition, galvanised steel exhibits self-healing properties due to the electrochemical bond between zinc and steel. When minor scratches or damage occur, zinc migrates to the affected area, providing a new layer of zinc oxide, which in turn provides a degree of protection. Galvanising only ever uses the exact amount of zinc required for a batch, further reducing materials costs and environmental waste.

  • Excellent protection and resistance to corrosion
  • Uniform coating even on complex shapes and threads
  • Mitigates clogging, coating high-performance parts that fit and perform as required
  • Maintains thread integrity even on the smallest of critical fasteners
  • Suited to high-volume production runs of repeatable small parts
  • Strong metallurgical bonds and protection (zinc becomes part of the steel surface)

Whether you need to galvanise high-performance fasteners or precision-engineered components, our world-leading galvanising capabilities and renowned customer service excellence deliver:

  • Batch galvanising for large, medium or small precision-engineered parts
  • A suite of post-treatment options for advanced protection
  • Exceptional quality controls, inspections and certification to meet international standards or customer specifications
